CIHT has today launched its new Institution wide strategy that outlines how it will provide strategic leadership and support to help members develop, deliver and maintain sustainable solutions for highways, transport infrastructure and services.

The strategy highlights what CIHT and its members do, outlines three new overarching themes and what the strategic priorities will be over the next few years.

This ambitious strategy has the institution’s members at its heart, highlighting the services and support that are provided as well as revealing CIHT’s new vision:

“To be the leading professional highways and transportation body, promoting safe, accessible, inclusive, economically and environmentally sustainable transport infrastructure”

Sue Percy CBE, CIHT’s Chief Executive, said:

“This is an exciting new strategy for CIHT. It highlights, over the next few years, our key areas of focus and programme development. It will enable us to continue to position ourselves as a leader across important areas of transport infrastructure activity.”  

“We have worked in consultation with our members and our partners to produce a strategy that explains our priorities and for the first time positions our work under three key themes of climate action, professionalism and equality, diversity and inclusion. These themes were developed by and with our members and will be central to all that we do as an institution.”

“I encourage all our members to take the chance to review this new document as it will provide the framework for all our activity over the next few years.”  

CIHT will now embark on an awareness raising campaign to highlight this new strategy and the work of the Institution.
