CIHT recognises the importance and urgency of addressing climate change and has through the Climate Change Pledge launched a series of commitments in response to the climate change challenge.

This survey will help CIHT with policy development and responses to consultations. The survey questions are inspired by current consultations by different UK governments on climate change, environment and sustainable transport.

The questions have been grouped in to three categories: society, policy and transport specific. You can browse through the questions under each category and choose those you wish to answer, if not all.

Society - The Government Office for Science note that by 2040 nearly one in seven people is projected to be aged over 75. This demographic shift will shape how public services are planned and influence every government department. Without significant improvements in health, the ageing UK population will increase the amount of ill-health and disability. We would like to hear what you are thinking about transports role in this and other developments related to changes to our society. 

Policy - These questions relate to specific policies, either existing or proposed in consultations. We would also like to know what policies you think should needs to be implemented to transition the UK to a zero emission economy. 

Transport specific - We ask about specific transport modes and technologies, to try to understand what impact you think these will have on our transport networks. These questions range from active travel and public transport to automated vehicles.

Completing the survey is also recognised as CPD activity.
