On 25 September 2025, CIHT won the Best Education Initiative at the Memcom Excellence Awards for our CIHT Learn courses on inclusive design in highways and transportation.
The Memcom Best Education Initiative award recognises programmes that deliver meaningful learning, innovative approaches, and impact across the sector.
CIHT’s inclusive e-learning programme equips transport and infrastructure professionals with the knowledge to design accessible, equitable public spaces and transport systems.
Developed in collaboration with organisations representing blind, partially sighted, and dementia-affected communities, the courses combine bite-sized learning, real-world case studies, and expert insight. Hundreds of learners have engaged with the content since launch, reporting its relevance and practical value.
Sue Percy CBE, Chief Executive, CIHT said:
“I am proud and delighted that CIHT has won this prestigious award as it marks our commitment to advancing inclusion and accessibility across the transport sector. By providing free and affordable access to our eLearning courses on inclusive highway and transportation design, we are equipping professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to create transport networks that serve everyone.”
“We are delighted that Memcom has recognised and awarded this important work and our innovative approach to supporting learning. High-quality, inclusive transport infrastructure has the power to transform lives, and its impact resonates not only with individuals but across wider society.”
