CIHT wishes to congratulate:

  • Professor Sarah Catherine Sharples CBE (Hon FCIHT) - Lately Chief Scientific Adviser, Department for Transport. For services to Transportation, to Manufacturing Research and to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Professor Sarah Sharples was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of CIHT in June 2025 and gave the keynote speech at the CIHT Annual Luncheon 2025.

  • Jo Field OBE (FCIHT) - Chair, Women in Transport. For services to Diversity and Inclusion in Transport.

Jo is a Fellow of the CIHT and a member of the CIHT Council. The honour recognises Jo’s exceptional contribution to advancing diversity and inclusion within the transport industry, where she has been a driving force behind the growth and impact of Women in Transport, the not-for-profit dedicated to empowering women to maximise their potential.

  • Andrew William Graham OBE (FCIHT) - Managing Director, White Willow Consulting. For services to Transport Safety and Efficiency.

Andrew was instrumental in the delivery of CIHT’s 2024 Charging for Road Use White Paper.

 


Recognition for other noted transport related professionals included:

  • Professor Scarlett McNally OBE - Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and Deputy Director, Centre for Perioperative Care. For services to Medicine, Surgery and the NHS – Professor McNally presented the CIHT Learned Society Lecture in 2024

Professor McNally gave the CIHT Learned Society Lecture in 2024 and contributed towards the 2025 CIHT report Overcoming the barriers to implementing active travel schemes

CB:

  • Nicholas Joyce, Director General, Corporate Delivery Group, Department for Transport. For services to Transport.
  • Joanna Elizabeth Clare Shanmugalingam, lately Second Permanent Secretary, Department for Transport. For services to Transport and Innovation.

CBE:

  • Vernon Everitt, Transport Commissioner for Greater Manchester. For services to Transport.
  • Ian Graham King, lately Chief Executive Officer, BAE Systems and Lead Non-Executive Director, Department for Transport. For services to the Transport and Defence Sectors.
  • Rupesh Mohan Mehta, lately Director, Planning, Department for Transport. For services to Transport Planning.

OBE:

  • Jane Cole, Managing Director, Blackpool Transport Services Ltd. For services to Public Transport and to the community in Blackpool.

MBE:

  • David John Astill, Managing Director, Nottingham City Transport. For services to Public Transport.
  • Jonathan Ross Tear, Head of Public Body Reviews, Department for Transport. For services to Diversity and Inclusion, and to Charity.
