The AGM marked the culmination of another successful year for the region and the end of Alex Parkin’s term as Chair, 2023-25. In 2024, the committee hosted 9 events, from webinars, to site visits and the annual awards dinner, providing members with almost 10 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, alongside a range of national events. The momentum continues into 2025, with the events programme already off to a good start (see listings).
Congratulations to Ian Robinson who was elected as the new Chair of the region. Ian thanked Alex for her hard work and dedication to the regional committee during her term as Chair. Ian expressed his wish to focus on succession planning and bringing in new members onto the committee as well as continuing to keep pushing the EDI agenda and the importance of accessibility.
Richard Manock steps into the role of Vice Chair, having previously served as Honorary Treasurer, and brings a wealth of experience to the position including a term as Chair of the former North West Branch.
