Last week, The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) held their biennial Regional Officers Conference where delegates took part in pioneering discussions about the future of the Institution.
Representatives from CIHT’s UK Regions and International groups were in attendance to discuss the vital role of Regional Officers and were updated on the Institution’s strategic priorities.
Regions and International Groups made invaluable contributions throughout the day by sharing their own experiences and successes across a series of presentations and workshops. This included a preview of the proposed changes through Project Alpha, as well as interactive sessions on stakeholder collaboration, membership recruitment, active membership and professional qualifications.
At the close, the achievements of CIHT Scotland, CIHT West Midlands and CIHT North East and Cumbria in Event Planning, Recruitment and Communications were respectively celebrated in the presentation of the 2017 Regional Awards.
CIHT Chief Executive Sue Percy said:
“The CIHT Regional Officers Conference was a great day full of best practice and knowledge sharing between regions and the Institution.
“Congratulations to all the regions who won awards for their commitment to promoting CIHT to their friends and colleagues. I would like to thank all the regional officers who attended for sharing their thoughts for future enhancement of the institution.”
Thank you to all delegates who took part in lively discussions and ensured that colleagues left full of ideas for 2018 and beyond.
A full summary and evaluation will follow shortly and will be taken to the next Regional Panel for review and reflection.
