Following the two separate road accidents involving professional cyclists, Bradley Wiggins and coach Shane Sutton last week, CIHT was invited to feature on the BBC One’s Breakfast show in a discussion on cycle safety.

BBC Breakfast is a live show on BBC One which broadcasts the latest news, sport, business and weather. CIHT was approached by the show’s broadcast journalist to provide a view on the UK’s cycling infrastructure.

Phil Jones, a CIHT member who works in transport planning and urban design, agreed to represent the institution and joined Olympic cycling champion Chris Boardman to discuss cycle safety and infrastructure with the show’s presenters Charlie Stayt and Louise Minchin.

The interview is available to watch on the BBC website at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p010ww3n
