Scott Grant, Vice Chair of CIHT Scotland, will give evidence to the Scottish Parliament's Transport Committee on Wednesday 4 November 2026.
The evidence session forms part of the Committee's pre-budget scrutiny ahead of the Scottish Government's 2027-28 Budget, which is expected to be published on 3 December 2026.
This year's scrutiny is focusing on road and rail development, including progress on major infrastructure projects, road maintenance and improvements to Scotland's rail network.
The Committee will examine issues including progress on road dualling projects, improvements at the Rest and Be Thankful, rail infrastructure development and the Better Surfaces Fund, which supports pothole repairs on local, rural and side roads.
Scott will join representatives from across the road and rail sectors in the first evidence panel, alongside representatives from the Asphalt Industry Alliance, Railway Engineering Institution, CECA Scotland and Rail Industry Association Scotland.
The Committee will then hear from representatives of ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland.
The session provides an opportunity for CIHT Scotland to contribute the highways and transportation profession's expertise to discussions about infrastructure priorities and future investment in Scotland.
The meeting will take place at 9.15am on Wednesday 4 November 2026 in Committee Room 3 at the Scottish Parliament. You can watch the session via Scottish Parliament TV.
