CIHT has become the latest signatory to the Tomorrow’s Engineers Code. The code is a commitment to work toward common goals to increase the diversity and number of young people entering engineering careers.

To achieve these goals, Signatories make four pledges about their approach to funding, designing, delivering, and learning from engineering-inspiration activities (including STEM programmes dedicated to inspiring young people into engineering).
Signatories form the Code Community which is made up of engineering firms, professional institutions, government departments, subject associations, universities, museums, third sector organisations and more. Any organisation with UK operations that funds, designs and/or delivers engineering-inspiration activities is invited to become a Signatory.
The Code’s pledges have been designed to drive a set of values and behaviours. How organisations deliver against these pledges is deliberately flexible so that Signatories can tailor their ambitions relevant to specific strengths and challenges within their own organisation.
Over 100 organisations and individuals helped write The Code; identifying four key areas where we could work closer together:
