CIHT & SoRSA Road Safety Audit Guidelines – Questionnaire 2017
In October 2008, the CIHT (formally IHT) launched the current version of Road Safety Audit Guidelines, which provided a comprehensive review of the Road Safety Audit process. This was the Third Edition of these guidelines as a result of revised documents within the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and the adoption of Manual for Streets (MfS), which have had a significant impact for the Road Safety Audit (RSA) process.
As a result of the recent update to the DMRB HD 19/15, which was issued in March 2015, and included the Certificate of Competency in accordance with Article (1–3) of EC Directive 2008/96/EC, the CIHT/SoRSA believes that a further revision of these guidelines is necessary and have set up a Working Group in order to update the guidance.
It is proposed that the new Road Safety Audit Guidelines will be electronic ONLY to concentrate on the application of the audit process and cover situations not already detailed to HD19/15. It will be formed around the process flowchart and (hopefully) include ‘Hyperlinks’ within the document to direct you to the relevant sections and references. It will be available on the CIHT/SoRSA Websites
To assist the Working Group to produce these guidelines, it would be appreciated if you could complete a brief questionnaire to ensure that all relevant aspects of the Road Safety Audit process are covered, for not just the Trunk Road Networks, but also at Local Highway Authority Road Networks. The questionnaire can be found below and once completed please return to the following email:
