Senior Transport Planner

I am currently a Senior Transport Planner working for Odyssey out of our Basingstoke office. I started in the industry over ten years ago as an Assistant Technician in a planning team, but soon become interested in all aspects of highways and transport.

From there I have developed my expertise and abilities and am thoroughly enjoying my role, achieving a strong track record in helping clients gain planning consent for a wide variety of projects.

If I am honest, several of my previous employers have encouraged me to join the CIHT, however, I found myself putting it off. Over the last two to three years I had been battling several personal circumstances including depression. Joining the CIHT became a professional and personal goal that in part gave me something to focus on and helped me to get myself back on track.

While much of my work is based in the southeast and London, the South West region was one of my choices in part because I live in Wiltshire as well as having close family in Northern Ireland, so it felt right to be associated with areas I am personally connected to.

As a member of the CIHT my immediate goal is to make connections and absorb the vast wealth of knowledge and experience available. I am also strongly minded toward undertaking the Transport Planning Professional qualification for which become a member of the CIHT was the first step.
