CIHT Vice President Steve Rowsell featured in a number of BBC outlets yesterday, discussing government plans to limit the maximum length of roadworks on a motorway to 2-mile stretches.
Mr Rowsell featured on BBC 5 Live to discuss the possible limitations and later appeared on BBC News 24. He reinforced the CIHT view that although increasing frustration at motorway roadworks is not without merit, the setting of arbitrary limits on the length of the roadworks could have even more negative connotations. Mr Rowsell stated that there is a real need to review the maximum length of roadworks allowed but there may be better methods to help alleviate driver frustration than the planned 2-mile limits.
Steve Rowsell's interview on BBC Radio 5 Live can be listened to here (at the 56 minute mark) and there was also a BBC News article on this topic that quoted the CIHT Vice President.
