The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) is pleased to announce the inauguration of David Gibby as its new President for 2014/15.

David was welcomed into his role yesterday (18 June 2014) at a small Inauguration held at CIHT’s central office in London.

David’s theme for the year is ‘Making the Journey’, and over the next twelve months he will be exploring and developing the theme paying particular focus on:

•    Making the career journey – how CIHT can support industry through professional development
•    Making transportation more accessible – focusing on improving access to our transport systems and networks
•    Making the journey more reliable – improving the resilience and maintenance of infrastructure
•    Making the case for transport – highlighting the important social and economic role played by transport to stakeholders

David Gibby said:
“We all make journeys every day. CIHT will be looking at how we can make the journey better for the customers on our transport networks. We need to make the journey better, safer, healthier, more integrated and more reliable.”

David’s Presidential Year will also support CIHT’s new membership recruitment campaign, #journeys, which aims to inspire new members and help the Institution reach 13,000 members.
