The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) welcomes the publication today of the Government's Industrial strategy. The work our members do is fundamental to the five foundations that the strategy identifies; Ideas, People, Infrastructure, Business Environment and Places.

Transportation has a key role in addressing the four challenges identified in the announcement and CIHT will work across the strategy areas to support the aims it sets out.

Sue Percy CIHT Chief Executive said:

"It is good to see the government set out an ambitious strategy that seeks to address many of the issues CIHT has commented on in recent years, including how we improve productivity in our sector.  It is consistent with our own strategic plan and we will continue to work across the sector and beyond to contribute to implementing the strategy."
