This prestigeous award is made to the CIHT member who has made an outstdaing contribution to highways and transportation.

The winner will be presented with their award at the CIHT Young Professional's Conference in the autumn and will be invited to sit on CIHT's Council as a young professionals representative.

Young professionals play an important role in CIHT and are the future of our industry. It is through them that our profession will continue to innovate, serve the travelling public and contribute to creating better places.

Criteria

To be eligible for the Young Professional Award, an applicant must be a current CIHT member with up to 7 years’ work experience.

Applicants must demonstrate that they have

• made a personal contribution to a substantial project or initiative that has benefited their organisation, transport users and/or the sector more widely;
• engaged with CIHT, either regionally or nationally, to develop themselves and/or others; and
• acted as a role model for their profession.

All criteria carry equal weighting.

The Award winner will be the applicant who is judged to have made the most positive impact during their early career as a Highways and Transportation professional.

Applications must be made on the form below and include a statement of up to 500 words by the applicant that demonstrates their suitability for the Award and a supporting statement of up to 300 words from the applicant’s line manager or CIHT Region.

Judging

The deadline for entries is 23:59 on 7 August 2020

All applications will be considered by a judging panel made up of members of CIHT’s Council. The panel will choose the winner and report the result at the September 2020 Council meeting.

Depending on the number of entries, the panel may decide to compile a short list before making their final decision. In this instance, shortlisted applicants will be notified at the appropriate point in the judging process.

The result will be announced on 31 August.  The winner of the Award will be invited to join CIHT’s Council as the Young Professional representative.
