This dynamic day-long event has been designed and planned by the CIHT Young Professionals Network (YPN) that is the collective voice of CIHT’s Young Professionals representing the 12 Nations and Regions from stakeholder organisations across the industry and supply chain.The event will examine how the next generation of leaders will shape, influence and drive the transportation sector.
200 CIHT members and non-members will circulate around four themed hubs throughout the day: covering Inspiration; Technology & Learning; People and Projects. Delegates have a choice of attending 15 different 30-minute sessions. Over 20 industry leading speakers and influencers will address specific topics under hub themes. The aim of the conference is to identify key themes for the YPN to take forward at a national level.
Keynote speakers include Iain Forbes, Head of the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), Department of Transport talking about the government’s vision and the role for CAV; Ed Parsons, Geospatial Technologist, Google, talking about Big Data and Tom Younger, Uber City Lead UK and Ireland, talking about Future Mobility. Transport industry speakers include Professor Glenn Lyons, Mott MacDonald Professor of Future Mobility (UWE) and Dr Helen Bailey, Director at the Driven Company Associates Ltd. Attendance contributes to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Conference highlights
• The Lightning Sessions provide an opportunity for organisations to present innovative products, processes and concepts in a 10-minute elevator pitch presentation.
• The Transport & Innovation Challenge asked young professionals to come up with a ‘My Transport Vision’ highlighting how the profession can address future challenges. The winner will be announced from a shortlist of five young professionals representing the industry from across the UK.
• The winner of the inaugural CIHT Apprentice of the Year Award 2018 will be announced from a shortlist of six candidates from across the industry. The award celebrates the achievements of apprentices, their contribution to the transportation industry plus recognising the employers and organisations who support them
