Earlier this month the Secretary of State for Transport announced that an extra £183.5m would be available to help repair local roads damaged by severe weather this winter.

116 local highway authorities in England will receive a share of this funding, along with a one-off payment to Transport for London to distribute to London Boroughs.

The Chancellor also announced in yesterday’s Budget that a further £200m will be provided for pothole repairs, via a Challenge Fund, in 2014-2015. This amount includes funding for the devolved administrations as well as England.
