The DfT is inviting views on proposals to remove the current need for the Secretary for State to approve local authority applications to run ‘permit schemes’, which enable authorities to better manage street works.
 
The consultation will run from 31 January 2012 for 12 weeks closing on 25 April 2012 and can be viewed here.
