CIHT’s main presence at the conference will be as one of the partners in the Built Environment Virtual Pavilion showcasing international low carbon projects. Space at the conference is severely limited and in the spirit of COP’s emphasis on collaboration, the UK Government has encouraged like minded organisations to work together. The Virtual Pavilion will have a physical presence in Glasgow, providing access to in-person attendees and will also host a series of events mapping on to the daily themes of the conference.
On Transport Day, 10 November, Sue Percy, Chief Executive, CIHT will speak at: ‘Planning for transport and connectivity: How do we build holistic net-zero and resilient places of the future?’. Other pavilion events we’ll be contributing to will include a session on Empowering young people to become climate aware professionals – what do we need to do know on 5 November.
Details of how to register for the Pavilion and the events programme will be available shortly.
CIHT are also supporting the Sustainable Innovation Forum, that will take place at COP26 and online on 8-10 November. This summit aims to identify innovations and technologies that can be deployed and scaled now. Standard online entrance is free and CIHT members will receive a 20% discount on a premium pass that allows more online networking at the event. Members can access this benefit by using the code CIHT20 here.
