From road construction to technological development, members heard about efforts to create a working ‘Hyperloop’ system at a seminar organised by the Institution in Doha in March.

Technology developer Hyperloop One’s vice president of worldwide business development Alan James gave an update on progress being made in creating the technology for 670MPH, tube based ground transport. Hyperloop could vastly improve connectivity and journey times, offering non stop transportation routes for passengers and freight, he said. The system’s first full scale public demonstration is scheduled for later this year.
