Department for Transport has released a policy paper (DfT Circular 01/2022) explaining how National Highways will:
It addresses the requirements for roadside facilities, including heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) driver services and new provisions for zero emissions vehicles.

CIHT has repeatedly called for more robust and integrated planning and transport policy for some time and was recently outlined in the publication, “Delivering sustainable transport for housing developments: Fixing a failing planning and transport system”. This policy paper by DfT is a clear example of a move towards more integrated policy, a result of continued dialogue between CIHT and DfT.
