The Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP, new Secretary of State for Transport was questioned by the Transport Select Committee on Wednesday 12 September. A transcript of his evidence can be viewed here.

Mr McLoughlin told the Committee that "our focus on growth, efficiency, affordability, passenger experience and safety remains as strong as ever".  He was asked to comment on a number of areas including the First Group bid, HS2, aviation capacity, road building and road safety.
