Following the launch of the Highways Agency strategy to improve road worker safety last November, an overall strategy for improving health and safety performance called 'Aiming for Zero' has been produced.

'Aiming for Zero' strategy is focused on the four operational areas of  construction and maintenance workers, road workers, traffic officers and office-based staff. It is guided by a core vision for the Highways Agency, which states that “Our aim is that as an employer, designer and a leading client, nobody comes to harm as a result of their work for us”.

For more information please see the Aiming for Zero Strategy

CIHT are holding a FREE event with a similar theme, 'Towards Zero Vision' - A Norwegian perspective on Road Safety' which takes place on 9 June 2010. For more information on this event please click here
