The Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme (HMEP) brings together the thinking of both the public and private sectors with the aim to develop a range of efficiency solutions for local authorities to apply when maintaining their networks. These include new business models, asset management, supply chain management, benchmarking, collaboration, design standards and lean management.
The strength and ultimate success of HMEP relies on sector engagement and CIHT has already helped shape parts of the programme. HMEP would like to hear from CIHT members who can support this important and ground breaking initiative.
If you would like to get involved in the programme, please email: highwaysefficiency@dft.gsi.gov.uk with your contact details and area of interest within the programme. Please mark your email ‘Involve’.
If you want to receive programme updates, please email: highwaysefficiency@dft.gsi.gov.uk with your email marked ‘Updates’.
If you have seen an efficiency idea in action which could have a wider local authority application, please send an outline of your idea to: highwaysefficiency@dft.gsi.gov.uk
Please mark your email ‘Idea’.
