A number of our Branch members gathered together in Glasgow on 11 June to hear from Jim Barton and Donald Morrison about their respective involvement in the World Road Association (WRA).

Jim, as the UK First Delegate on the WRA, explained the organisational structure of WRA, its activities and its current agenda to reach out to a wider audience to share its knowledge and experience. Donald told us about his work on one of the Technical Committees where he has a specific interest in benchmarking of Asset Management Systems. His committee is currently involved in developing case study material that will start to become available early in 2010.

Both presentations were well received and are provided here, with Jim and Donald's agreement, for the benefit of the wider IHT audience. Jim made special mention of the valuable role that IHT plays in the work of the UK region of WRA through John Smart's invaluable secretariat role.
