This month (July 2019) marks the one-year anniversary since the publication of the Inclusive Transport Strategy and has been marked by a flurry off announcements by the Department of Transport.  These include;

The £20 million fund will be open for applications from stations in need of accessibility improvements, leading to small-scale enhancements such as tactile paving, handrails and Harrington Humps, which increase platform heights.

  • Delivering a rail ombudsman to protect passenger rights
  • Expanding the Blue Badge scheme to new disabilities
