Since its birth in the early 1900s, International Women's Day has grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across developed and developing countries alike. For decades, IWD has grown from strength to strength annually and this year is no different.
Traditionally women have been underrepresented in the field of engineering. However, CIHT is committed to promoting diversity in the highways and transportation industry and we will be making history this year with our first ever female President, Sheila Holden, who will be inaugurated in June.
We also have an event planned for the summer highlighting the importance of women in engineering, in partnership with the women’s Transport Seminar. Watch this space for more information on the event in the upcoming months.
