Job Description
Northumberland is a geographically diverse county, from densely populated industry and housing in the south east, to sparsely populated upland and coastal areas and commuter towns and villages throughout.
The importance of developing local transport solutions that maximise development opportunities, support economic development, improve access to core road and rail networks, ease congestion, reduce the need to travel and enable other modes of transport (cycling, walking etc) is paramount for the development of our County and has a significant impact on the quality of life of residents and visitors to the area. We also want to ensure that we develop a sustainable public transport system that connects our rural economies.
Continuing to deliver proactive local transport solutions and seeking greater support for investment in strategic road and rail transport infrastructure to enable growth for businesses and communities is our number one priority. To help us achieve this we are looking for an ambitious and dedicated strategic transport specialist to join our management team and drive forward our future ambitions for transport across Northumberland, building partnerships and ensuring we have a strong voice within the wider region.
