Project Centre - Transport Planner and Senior Transport Planner
Project Centre’s Transport and Development Planning Team is offering exciting opportunities for dynamic and motivated people to help deliver a wide variety of projects from our Brighton office.
We are looking for a Senior Transport Planner and a Transport Planner to join our team in Brighton. You will play a key role in the team to deliver high quality transport and development planning projects for a range of public and private sector clients in the Brighton, South East and London markets.
As a Transport Planner you must have;
• Relevant 1st Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years relevant transport planning experience
• Knowledge of Transport Appraisal, Travel Planning, Transportation study techniques and software
• Familiarity with traffic and highway legislation
• Knowledge of relevant technical and policy standards
• Excellent computer literacy (knowledge of using spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook, some knowledge of technical software e.g. SATURN, VISUM, VISSIM, TRANSYT, LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, TRICS, TRAVL)
• Excellent written and numeracy skills
• Preparation of technical reports and documents to a high standard
As a Senior Transport Planner, you must;
• Relevant 1st Degree or equivalent
• Be an experienced Senior transport planner with minimum 5 years relevant transport planning skills across a range of areas, including but not exclusively – transport assessments, travel plans, traffic modelling, masterplanning, feasibility studies with public and private sector knowledge
• Understanding and practical experience of transport planning in Brighton and South East
• Knowledge of Highway Engineering skills to assess and propose interventions to facilitate development proposals
• Knowledge of Transport Appraisal, Travel Planning, Transportation study techniques and software
• Knowledge of with traffic and highway legislation
• Project management skills for both individual and collective works programmes
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Team management, supervisory and ‘people’ skills
• Good team worker
• Excellent oral and written communication and numeracy skills
• IT – excellent computer literacy (such as Microsoft Office suite of programmes, TRICS, TRAVL, ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT, VISSIM)
• Knowledge of latest guidance, policy and practices relating to transport planning and engineering
• Financial monitoring and control of project budgets
• Client management
