CIHT is establishing a new Highways Resilience and Response Forum, bringing together professionals interested in strengthening the resilience of local highway networks and services to our changing climate.

The Forum follows the publication of the Highways Resilience and Adaptation Toolkit, a suite of practical guidance designed to help local highway authorities adapt their infrastructure and services to a changing climate and prepare for and respond to disruption caused by flooding, extreme heat, wildfires and other climate hazards.

Following a very positive response to the guidance, the new Forum will provide a space to support its practical application and learn from the experience of those using it.

Through the Forum, members will be able to:

• explore different elements of the guidance in greater depth through webinars and briefings
• hear how authorities and contractors are applying it in practice;
• share experiences, challenges and good practice with peers across the sector
• contribute to future updates of the guidance
• help shape future training and learning resources
• discuss wider developments in highways resilience and climate adaptation

The Forum is open to professionals from local highway authorities, contractors and other organisations with an interest in highways resilience.
