What place could or should driverless technology have in our society in order to help improve social, environmental and economic outcomes?
Let’s Talk Transport is a new podcast series led by our CIHT Young Professionals. The series will cover several different topics across the year including sustainability, road safety and electric vehicles. The podcast is led by Annika Davies (Young Professional Chair for CIHT London) and Rahul Modhvadia (Young Professional Chair for CIHT Cymru Wales).
In the fourth installment of the Let's Talk Transport series, Annika and Rahul discuss the topic of self-driving cars with Professor Glenn Lyons. The team explore the introduction of driverless cars on to our roads and the ways in which our transport infrastructure may need to adapt to support this change.

The appointment bridges between academia and practice and Glenn is dividing his time between the university and Mott MacDonald (on secondment). He was responsible for overseeing: (i) the sustainability of, and ongoing enhancement to, the faculty's research environment; (ii) the delivery of high quality outcomes from research in terms of new contributions to knowledge, impact beyond academia arising from the research and enrichment by research of teaching and learning; and (iii) advancing enterprising capability and behaviour amongst staff and students including external networking and partnerships.
