Visitors to the ‘Local Authorities Hub’ will hear about latest insights into priority topics facing them right now: from climate change and emergency preparedness, to adoption of new technologies and approaches for managing roadworks.
“Local authority delegates will be able to learn from those leading the way and have lots of opportunities to discuss, explore and learn,” said the show’s local authorities manager Teresa Jolley (pictured).
The Local Authorities Hub is supported by the Local Government Technical Advisors’ Group and ADEPT – the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning & Transport – and is sponsored by Ringway. For further details about the Hub, click here.
This year, Highways UK covers five broad themes: ‘big thinking’, ‘road owner hubs’, ‘intelligent infrastructure’, ‘civil infrastructure’ and ‘sustainability and people’.
The event will include a CIHT Hub, featuring a presentation from President Martin Tugwell and covering topics including better planning for better transport and professional development.
Also at the show, CIHT Past President Steve Rowsell and Transport Scotland chief executive Roy Brannen will be awarded laureates; reserved for individuals who have made a significant contribution to the sector over a sustained period of time.
