CIHT is working with the National Audit Office (NAO) to bring together local authority professionals for a focus group discussion as part of the NAO’s study into local road maintenance.
The session is open to people working for local authorities in England, providing an opportunity to share their experiences and help ensure the challenges and opportunities facing local highway authorities are reflected in the NAO’s work.
The NAO is particularly keen to hear from a range of authorities, reflecting different sizes, resources and road condition ratings.
The discussion will explore:
· New standards for road condition reporting and engagement with the Department for Transport (DfT)
· Support provided by DfT and the Local Government Association (LGA) on local road maintenance
· Feedback on guidance relating to the Structures Fund
· The risks and opportunities associated with new models of accountability in the context of devolution
The session will provide an opportunity for those working directly within local authorities to share practical insight and experience of managing and maintaining local road networks.
Date: Friday 13 November
Time: 10.00am–11.00am
Location: Online via Microsoft Teams
If you work for a local authority in England and would like to take part, please contact CIHT on technical@ciht.org.uk to register your interest.
Further details, including the Microsoft Teams invitation, will be provided to participants.
