Forthcoming new guidelines from CIHT

In March 2009, CIHT announced the start of a project to produce guidelines to assist Local Authority Planning and Highway officials, as well as other professionals, to bridge the gap between Manual for Streets and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, when designing new or upgrading existing highways.

The new document Manual for Streets 2 – Wider Application of the Principles will take the philosophies set out in Manual for Streets and demonstrate, through guidance and case studies, how they can be extended beyond residential streets to other types of road.
