Are you running in the London Marathon this spring? Transportation Professional would like to hear from readers about their training plans and to find out what concerns they may have about preparing for the big race on Sunday 21 April.
Do the condition of local footpaths make it difficult to stay upright? Are potholes in the road leading to fears of twisted ankles? How well lit are the streets where you run? Have you experienced conflict with other road users? And are you confident that you will be able to continue running safely should heavy snow fall where you live over the next couple of months?
Comments from experienced marathon runners are particularly welcome, as well as those training for other road races or sporting events on the public highway this spring. Have you noticed a deterioration in the local street scene and could it be that training in the dark has become more hazardous in recent years? What improvements would you like to see to highways in your area to make training and competing on the streets a more pleasant and safe activity?
Please get in touch with the magazine’s deputy editor (and marathon runner) Mike Walter to share your thoughts. Call him on 01892 553148 or email mike@transportation-mag.com
