CIHT is proud to spotlight Ibrahim Balogun MCIHT MAPM, a dedicated Civil Engineer whose work exemplifies the values of sustainable and inclusive infrastructure.
With over 15 years of experience in highways, bridges, drainage, urban regeneration, and active travel schemes, Ibrahim brings a wealth of knowledge shaped by both international and UK-based projects. Most recently, he served at Bury Council, where he led the Ainsworth Road Safety Scheme and the Pilsworth Junction Improvement, two transformative projects that significantly enhanced road safety, traffic flow, and accessibility for local communities.
Ibrahim also played a key role in the Radcliffe Hub regeneration, supporting early contractor involvement and design coordination to ensure the project met local needs effectively.
Next, he will be joining Newcastle City Council as an Engineer (Highway Design & Management), where he will continue his commitment to designing infrastructure that works for everyone—particularly vulnerable road users.
With a strong background in infrastructure design, asset management and highway construction, Ibrahim is passionate about creating transport solutions that are both forward-looking and inclusive.
