CIHT Resilience Award 2026

Adapting the Square Mile for a Changing Climate

This award recognises projects, schemes or strategies in the highways and transportation sector that have contributed to making infrastructure more resilient to extreme weather events and climate change. Read below how the City of London Corporation's Cool Streets and Greening Programme is transforming the City of London’s streets and public spaces to strengthen resilience against extreme weather and future climate impacts. With £7.8m invested across 50 projects, the programme delivers innovative climate adaptive interventions including rain gardens, climate-resilient tree planting, permeable paving, xeriscape planting and urban cooling routes.

CIHT Road Safety Award 2026

How Abu Dhabi Enhanced Delivery Motorcyclist Traffic Safety

The Road Safety Award, in memory of John Smart, recognises outstanding achievements which improve road users' safety through excellent practice, design and technical application.
