The CIHT Awards 2026 celebrate the people, projects and organisations delivering excellence across highways, transportation and infrastructure.

Resilience Award (sponsored by FM Conway): Cool Streets and Greening Programme, City of London Corporation

This award recognises projects, schemes or strategies in the highways and transportation sector that have contributed to making infrastructure more resilient to extreme weather events and climate change. Read below how the City of London Corporation's Cool Streets and Greening Programme is transforming the City of London’s streets and public spaces to strengthen resilience against extreme weather and future climate impacts. With £7.8m invested across 50 projects, the programme delivers innovative climate adaptive interventions including rain gardens, climate-resilient tree planting, permeable paving, xeriscape planting and urban cooling routes.
