The Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) held a joint fringe event at the Labour Party Conference on Tuesday 23rd September in Manchester.
The fringe event, 'How can planning help deliver the transport infrastructure we need?', provided guests with the opportunity to debate the key issues facing transport infrastructure and planning ahead of the 2015 General Election.
Speakers at the event included Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP, CIHT Chief Executive Sue Percy, CIHT President David Gibby, RTPI Chief Executive Trudi Elliott and RTPI Vice President Janet Askew.
CIHT Chief Executive Sue Percy said: “CIHT is delighted to be able to offer its members the opportunity to debate key issues facing transport infrastructure. As the leading institution in the highways and transportation sector, CIHT believe that transport infrastructure must be recognised by all three main political parties as a key policy and investment priority.”
