Today marks the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week, the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health. The week, which is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, is in its 22nd year and runs from 9-15 May. This year, the theme for the week is ‘Loneliness’. Across the country, people will be reflecting on loneliness and how it impacts our mental health. Long-term loneliness is closely linked to mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
CIHT Members can participate in Mental Health Awareness week by signing up to one of four free mental health courses on the new online learning platform, CIHT Learn:
Mental health in the workplace: Overview (Exclusive to CIHT Members)
This course looks at common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety and depression and their impact in the workplace and introduces what employers can do to support the mental well-being of their staff.
Mental health in the workplace: Managing stress (Exclusive to CIHT Members)
This course looks at the key triggers for stress and sets out practical steps that employers can take to reduce their impact and support general mental well-being at work.
Mental health - Suicide prevention awareness
In the UK in 2018 someone took their own life every 81 minutes.
The aim of this course is to help people to recognise when a friend, family member or colleague is suffering from mental ill health. Anyone can make a difference to someone else’s life.
How to Create an Employee Wellness Program: A Step-by-Step Guide
Why is good employee health critical to your business, and how do you protect everyone’s mental, physical, and emotional well-being?
In this course, we’ll guide you through each step of the creation process to equip you with all the necessary tools for a successful employee wellness program. By the end, you’ll walk away with a solid grasp of the strategies behind a comprehensive approach to workplace well-being—and why they work.
