Recycling Road Aggregates: A joint meeting by CIHT and IoQ on 13 February 2012

The joint meeting was arranged by Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and Institute of Quarrying (IOQ)on 13 February 2012. The topic was 'Recycling Road Aggregates'. It was worth attending. I went to Leicester Forest Hill Golf Club premises.

The evening meeting started with a presentation by SE Davis and Son LTD who are specialist in cleaning surface dressing aggregate. Aggregates that have been considered waste in the past can now be recycled to be used as 10mm / 6 mm premium grade aggregates for highway construction and maintenance. The presentation (mostly consisted of videos) described benefits and economies of this process. The evening ended with a nice hot meal arranged by Institution of Quarrying.

If someone would like to see their washing and systems in a live environment, SE Davis would be happy to show them around. For more details, please check S.E Davis website (www.sedavis.co.uk).
