Last week, the CIHT National Young Professionals Network held their first face to face meeting to plan out the future direction of the network. The meeting was led by the groups Chair Ed Downer, winner of the 2016 CIHT/Balfour Beatty Young Professional Award.
The group looked to plan out the future direction of the network, outlining the scope and setting out core values. The day was then followed by group workshops, discussing thy next steps and future goals.
Following this there were a number of ideas for future events and collaboration with the Regional Young Professional groups, including: work around strengthening university ties, working to ensuring that large National events are accessible to Young Professionals, creating a library of webinars for training, and working with apprentices, helping to recognise their route to membership.
The group look forward to holding a conference to bring together the network, and start showcasing their work in the near future.
More information on the National Young Professional Network will follow in due course.
