Following the NI AGM the Colas Award was held - sponsored locally by ICB Emulsions.  Three young CIHT members gave excellent presentations.  Kaine Lynch from Roads Service, who is doing a part-time PhD at Queen's University, was awarded first place and will go forward to the National Finals, he received a cheque for £150 from ICB Emulsions.  His talk was on 'Managing Geotechnical Instability on the Antrim Coast Road'.  The two other presentations were from Ruth Mitchell who is studying for a PhD at the University of Ulster who spoke on 'Warm Asphalt' and Kris Campbell from Roads Service who presented on 'The use of Ground penetrating Radar for Bridge Assessment' .  They both received £75 cheque from ICB Emulsions.  The presentations can be downloaded from the archive on the CIHT Northern Ireland web pages.
