The new NI CIHT F1 Challenge was a great success and the format for the evening’s entertainment of endurance karting, F1 simulators and food and drink finished with all of the teams completing the competition. The final scores highlighted the stiff competitive spirit with RPS clinching this year’s title with a split decision based on the quickest lap time. The team captain Stephen McLaughlin said’ that he really enjoyed the event and look forward to defending the title next year’. Congratulations also go to the second and third placed teams of The Independents (captained by Paul McKeown) and the University of Ulster (captained by Ryan McCoy) respectively.
A special guest and competitor on the night was Kevin McShane (Chairmen of the Northern Ireland branch of the Institution of Civil Engineers) who said that ‘it was exciting to see such an event on the NI CIHT Graduates & Young Professionals calendar’. A thank you goes to our sponsors Whitemountain, Pat O’Donnell & Co, McQuillan and Wirtgen Ireland for without their kind donations this event could not have taken place.
Winning team from RPS include: Stephen McLaughlin (Cpt) Graham McCracken, Mark McEvoy & Kristopher Calder
