Do not believe that being an Ordinary Member of Council can bring so many benefits? Don’t just take our word for it. |
Earlier this month, we saw our very own CIHT Council member Jo Field awarded an OBE for services to Diversity and Inclusion in Transport.
Jo is a Fellow of the CIHT and a member of the CIHT Council, elected in June 2025. The honour recognises Jo’s exceptional contribution to advancing diversity and inclusion within the transport industry, where she has been a driving force behind the growth and impact of Women in Transport, the not-for-profit dedicated to empowering women to maximise their potential.
Jo is proud to be a member of CIHT’s Council and acknowledges the benefit of being involved with CIHT.
Jo Field OBE said:
“I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition. It reflects the incredible dedication of my colleagues at Women in Transport and JFG Communications who are working alongside me every day to champion diversity and inclusion in the transport industry. My role on CIHT Council has enabled me to use my expertise in diversity and decarbonisation to help the Institution be a leader in these areas, while at the same time inspiring the next generation of transport professionals.”
“I would encourage transport professionals within CIHT to put themselves forward for election to Council and take this opportunity to raise their own profile and influence the future direction of the Institution.”
Members wishing to submit their nominations need to complete a career profile and explain their ambitions for the future of CIHT. Click here to find out more, or you can email the Governance Team on governance@ciht.org.uk for more information.
Nominations must be supported by four fully paid-up voting members (Members, Fellows, Associates, Graduates, Apprentices and Part Time Students).
