Next week’s Traffex show features over 20 hours of free CPD accredited seminars and will play host to more than 350 product suppliers from around the world.

The event takes place at the National Exhibition Centre near Birmingham between 16 and 18 April and is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors. Speakers will include Graham Hanson of the Department for Transport who will discuss new traffic signs regulations.

Sue Stevens of CIHT will talk about continuing professional development, Meghann Downing of the Highways Agency is to look at the managed motorway concept and Matthew Lugg of the Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme is to discuss the effectiveness of preparing for severe weather.

Among the highlights of the show will be a special darkened indoor arena where retro reflective and directly illuminated traffic signs will be displayed in a range of artificial scenarios. Products inside the arena will be displayed in either street lit, unlit or dimmed conditions. Visitors to the Traffex show will also have the chance to attend the Parkex  exhibition alongside.

Traffex event director Bill Butler said: “We have a great show lined up and visitors will have plenty to see. There are some great speakers, live demonstrations and lunchtime workshops over the three days.”
