Building our industrial strategy
The Government has released its draft Industrial Strategy for consultation. “Its objective is to improve living standards and economic growth by increasing productivity and driving growth across the whole country.” The strategy contains 10 pillars to help the UK “make long-term decisions about our economic future.” These pillars include: Investing in science, research and innovation; developing skills; upgrading infrastructure & improving procurement.

Fixing our broken housing market
The Government has released a
white paper sets out government’s plans to boost the supply of new homes in England. As part of the paper the government will be consulting on changes to planning policy and legislation on planning for housing, sustainable development and the environment. Deadline for submissions is 2 May 2017.
Heathrow expansion: draft Airports National Policy Statement
This statement sets out the need for additional capacity in the South East of England, examines the planning policy framework and makes the case for a north-west runway at Heathrow Airport, the preferred option. Deadline for submissions 25 May 2017.
