The Department for Transport is urging councils in England to apply for a ?168 million pothole fund. The details of the scheme with the guidance for applications available. This follows on from the announcement by the Chancellor in March for the ?200m fund which is across the UK. As the devolved administrations have received ?32 million from the ?200 million announced in the Budget, they will not be eligible to bid.

The Department for Transport is urging councils in England to apply for a £168 million pothole fund. The details of the scheme with the guidance for applications is now available. This follows on from the announcement by the Chancellor in March for the £200m fund. As the devolved administrations have received £32 million from the £200 million announced in the Budget, they will not be eligible to bid.
Successful local authorities will sign a pothole pledge as a condition of the funding, setting out the number of potholes they will have repaired by March 2015.
