The Project Brunel Industry study – sponsored by the DfT, TfL and the London Development Agency and supported by IHT and the Rail Industry Association - was undertaken to examine resourcing issues associated with engineering, technical and planning (ETP) professions within the transport industry.

By combining existing reports, statistics and membership information with the nationwide survey that was undertaken as part of the study, the report gives an indication of demand and supply trends within these professions.

The study results highlight several professions of potential concern in relation to a mis-match between demand and supply and the report outlines a range of possible solutions that might help redress this situation over the short, medium and longer terms.
