The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) is developing a map of the highways and transportation sector’s workforce and will be tracking the changes and trends which will emerge over the coming years.
There are sector-wide challenges around skills, recruitment and retention which we are all facing whilst expectations continue to increase for the sector to provide sustainable transport and better social value for the communities in which we work and live. Priorities and ways of working are being altered and yet we do not have a clear picture of the changing size, structure and skills needed within the collective workforce.
CIHT is inviting businesses within the sector to take part in a survey in order to provide a comprehensive employment and skills map to help the strategic development of the sector. The survey will be repeated every two years, supported with some in-depth interviews, to produce a biennial, dynamic report on the averages and trends unique to our sector.
Employers from across the sector, different-sized organisations and varying specialist expertise are invited to fill in the survey, to ensure a diverse representation of the sector is obtained.
Participating organisations will be sent a copy of the results report.
The survey will be open until the end of March and should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete. To find out more, please visit the website.
